Hazardous waste: authorisations and tracking forms

• Legal basis: law 28-00 (waste management) and décret 2-07-253 (classification and tracking forms for hazardous waste). • Authorisation: collection, transport, storage and disposal of hazardous waste require a specific authorisation (categories per the official nomenclature). • Traceability: movements are covered by a tracking form (bordereau de suivi); the producer is responsible for declaration and compliant disposal. • Mining and processing: associated hazardous waste (e.g. cyanide processes) is subject to sectoral review, with environmental and sectoral authorisations in parallel. • Limit values: see the fiche on liquid discharges and air emissions.
