Accredited firms for environmental impact studies (EIA)

• Legal basis: décret 2-98-984 (22 March 1999) establishes the accreditation regime — EIA reports must be prepared by an accredited firm listed by the environmental administration. • Link with law 49-17 (2020): two nomenclatures (full EIA / environmental notice); review by the national committee (CNEIE) or regional committees (CREIE) depending on project size (MAD 200 million threshold). • Official list: the administration publishes accredited firms with their domain codes (e.g. D19); the publicly available version dates from 7 October 2014 and the current list must be requested from the administration. • Practical consequence: verify the firm’s domain accreditation and listing — a mismatch may lead to rejection of the file. • Note: this record covers the regime and the status of the list only; it is not a recommendation of service providers.
