Morocco's energy and power sector is in transition, with the main thrust being to expand renewable energy generation and modernize the power grid, while advancing cross-border electricity interconnection. The main contracting and procurement entities include public institutions such as the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) and the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN), covering procurement of power generation projects such as solar PV, wind power, and energy storage, transmission and distribution equipment, operations and maintenance services, and technical consulting. Project scales and grid-connection conditions vary, and development and procurement paths also differ. Common forms of cooperation for foreign enterprises are equipment supply, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracting, operations and maintenance services, or consortium bidding.
